What’s in a Name?

Business for Good.

What’s in a name?  It’s an important question!  I acquired California Closets of Tennessee in 2015 after spending over 30 years in both Fortune 500 corporations and smaller nascent businesses.   My passion is transforming brands, divisions, and organizations at an inflection point into something amazing.   I chose California Closets because it is a brand that aligns with my training of growing organizations that have premium brands built on product quality and a superior customer experience.  I also liked that it is a franchise so there was a network of 100 other amazingly talented operators with whom I could collaborate to ensure we functioned with best practices.

I’ve always believed that the purpose of a business was to improve the quality of life of its employees, it’s customer’s and the community.  In fact, this was the vision of Adam Smith, the father of capitalism, as he wrote in his seminal The Wealth of Nations in 1776.  Somewhere along the way, the idea of capitalism got tainted by those who prey to the “greed is good” psyche.  Since we all have to work, why not enjoy it?  My vision is to create a business where the employees love and respect each other, enables a lifestyle that allows employees and their families to thrive, allows customers to receive the best product in the industry with a customer experience second to none – all while giving back to the community.   A Business for Good.
